Yvonne Schmidt ist Dozentin und stellvertretende Leiterin des Institute for the Performing Arts and Film der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste. Daneben verantwortet sie den Forschungsschwerpunkt Kunstvermittlung an der Hochschule der Künste Bern und leitet das Eco Art Lab, ein transdisziplinäres Labor, das sich im Dialog zwischen künstlerischer Forschung, Klimaforschung und Öffentlichkeit mit dem Klimawandel auseinandersetzt. Sie studierte Theater-, Tanz- und Literaturwissenschaft und promovierte über Theater mit nicht professionellen Darstellenden an der Uni Bern. An der ZHdK leitete sie 2015-2019 das SNF-Forschungsprojekt «DisAbility on Stage» in Kooperation u.a. mit Theater HORA. Research Fellowships führten sie nach Chicago (2011-2012) und Vancouver (2018). Daneben ist Co-Präsidentin der Schweizerischen Gesellschaft für Theaterkultur und Mitbegründerin und Co-Convener der International Federation for Theatre Research (IFTR) Working Group “Performance & Disability”.
